Final year students from Boston University School of Medicine

We are delighted to bring you news of two students from Boston University School of Medicine who spent a month with us at The Chinese University of Hong Kong for their final year elective. Students Maya Kailas and Hyunjee Kwak chose our Faculty based on the positive feedback from BU students who attached with us last year.

Since radiology is not part of their core curriculum, they decided to attach to our Department of Imaging and Interventional Radiology in order to get more exposure. By spending time with our local students and academics, they learnt more about our healthcare and educational system, which is based on the British model and somewhat different than what they are familiar with back home. Also, they got to witness clinical cases that are common in Asia but considered rare in the States.

“The teachers would bring out slides and take time to explain the images to us. They are very receptive and very much interested in having us around; which makes us feel welcomed.”

“The Prince of Wales Hospital (CUHK’s teaching hospital) is located close to nature and we have been hiking and biking in addition to discovering the city life of Hong Kong.”

As one of the youngest institutions to be ranked among the world's top medical schools, the Faculty of Medicine at The Chinese University of Hong Kong is reputable for being innovative and forward-thinking, having nurtured cohorts of new-generation healthcare professionals who have gained national and international recognition.
