Humanitarian
"To prevent and alleviate human suffering, to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human person – these are the most important humanitarian principles, the ones that all the others work to achieve. In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, humanity underpins the full range of human rights and fundamental freedoms that enable every man, woman and child to live free from fear and want."
The 8th United Nations Secretary-GeneralBAN Ki-moon
Humanity, neutrality, impartiality and independence are the principles guiding humanitarian actions. We believe that all human beings deserve respect and dignity and should be treated as such. From paying respect to the human body, doing no harm to the patients, to training and empowering medical personnel in rural and remote areas, campaigns to raise awareness about health problems in poor countries, health education, help for marginalised groups and public health advice, the Faculty has a strong commitment to human’s well-being in Hong Kong, China and worldwide.
Through community involvement, both Faculty members and students contribute their knowledge and skills to serve the community, to fulfil our social responsibilities as well as to enrich the whole person development of our students.
