Collaborative Dementia Study with UCL
In a continuation to our collaboration in the study of dementia, the study on the “Association of Daily Intellectual Activities With Lower Risk of Incident Dementia Among Older Chinese Adults” shows that active participation in intellectual activities, even in late life, might help prevent dementia in older adults. Given the growing older population worldwide, promoting regular engagement in intellectual activities might help delay or prevent dementia (JAMA Psychiatry. Published online May 30, 2018. doi:10.1001/jamapsychiatry.2018.0657).
Anyone interested in future collaboration in this field of research is welcome to contact our key investigator Prof Linda Lam, professor of our Department of Psychiatry and director of its Dementia Research Unit. Prof Lam’s research focus is the genetic, epidemiological and clinical aspects of psychiatric disorders.
