10月是先父趙榮裕醫生逝世1周年，我希望透過這篇文章記載一點逸事，緬懷對我影響甚深的父親。爸爸年幼時跟隨嫲嫲在香港上海街長大，爺爺是長居美國的華僑，作為二房的嫲嫲經常和友人麻將耍樂。年幼時，爸爸返學前都必須為嫲嫲準備早餐，放學後則流連街角球場。二戰後，他重拾書本，入讀聖芳濟書院和喇沙書院，中學時他認識到幾個影響一生的摰友，一同加入聖母軍。他常常感恩能在天主教會的神父推薦下，到愛爾蘭都柏林聖三一大學修讀醫科。他因家境清貧，選擇了最便宜到達愛爾蘭的方法——乘坐大郵輪！當年坐大郵輪到愛爾蘭需時1個月，爸爸形容在三等船艙裏要吃飯非常困難，因為遇到大浪時船會左右搖擺，飯碗和餐碟都會因應船的搖擺傾斜而滑來滑去！

Organized by the Medical Society of CUHK @cuhk.medsoc , the annual Health Exhibition commenced today under the theme “Breath Inspired” (一氣呵成). This event aims to raise awareness among Hong Kong citizens about respiratory diseases and promote knowledge about treatments and healthy lifestyle choices to reduce the risk of developing these conditions.

Prof Ronald Ma (@DrRonaldMa1), from the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics, was recently awarded the "S.H. Ho Professorship in Diabetes" in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to #diabetes #research. During the inauguration ceremony on August 30, he shared how he and his team had improved the understanding of diabetes in Asian populations through advancing epidemiology, genomics and precision medicine, with the aim to improve the lives of people with diabetes.
