Winner of Best Scientific Paper Award
Victor Chan, a GPS Year 4 student, received the "Best Scientific Paper Award" at the 33rd Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress.
"We were very encouraged to see our medical student win this award among many competitors who are ophthalmologists or postgraduate scientists. He is also the only awardee in the sub-specialty ocular imaging," highlighted by Professor Clement Tham, APAO Congress President, and Chairman of Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, CUHK.
Under the supervision of Dr. Carol Cheung (Assistant Professor) and Professor Vincent Mok (Chief of Neurology), Victor is currently a core investigator of the research project "Using Retinal Imaging to Study Alzheimer's Disease", which aims to translate and apply the retinal imaging measures as biomarkers for Alzheimer's Disease.
APAO is a prestigious international event in the field of Ophthalmology with more than 5,000 participants from 87 countries this year.
