“During my intercalated year, I pursued the Master of Science (MSc) Programme in Research Medicine offered by the Faculty of Medicine and had a fruitful year to explore my interest in cancer research. My research project aims to investigate the novel STAT3 inhibitor as a new therapeutic strategy against HCC. Recently, I was able to present my project in the AACR Undergraduate Student Caucus and Poster Competition. It was my honour to be awarded the Margaret Foti Foundation Undergraduate Prize for Cancer Research. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my supervisor Dr. CHEUNG Siu Tim, who has been very supportive of my master’s study. Although this year’s program and poster competition were unfortunately held in virtual format, I still enjoyed all the inspiring and engaging online sessions that allowed me to gain insights into the latest cancer research. The experience has heightened my interest in cancer research, and I would love to explore my career option in this field.” Elaine remarked.
