COVID-19 Patients are found to have active and prolonged gut viral infection. CU Medicine to establish Testing Centre to Identify Silent Carriers

Abstract

We discovered COVID-19 patients have active and prolonged gut viral infection for the first time, even in the absence of GI symptoms and after recovery. A Coronavirus Testing Centre to enhance Hong Kong’s capacity to test for COVID-19.

 

The discovery has impacted the clinical management of COVID-19 patients and was published in the international medical journal GUT.
